Yet across many communities in Nigeria and beyond, an alarming form of child abuse continues to hide in plain sight; the use of underaged children, especially girls, as domestic staff . Often disguised as “helping a distant relative” or “bringing a child to the city for a better life,” this practice has stolen the childhoods of thousands of young girls.
